About Us

Andrew A. Matthews is a qualified, skilled & experienced craftsman.Having studied at the London College of Furniture he attained qualifications in City & Guilds Cabinet Making & HND Furniture Restoration & Conservation.Following valuable experience in London based workshops Andrew relocated to Cambridgeshire to set up his own business. Since then he has served both trade & private clients,including King`s, Trinity & Girton College`s, Kettles Yard, The Fitzwilliam Museum & English Heritage.

Specialist Services

Andrew A. Matthews Restoration specialises in the repair and / or replacement of antique furniture locks and keys. We are also able to match any period cabinet fitting either by fabricating flat brass or mild-steel material or by traditional brass casting. All new metalwork is patinated & coloured to blend in with the existing piece of furniture.
