French cafe culture in Hitchin

This branch of the Cafe Rouge chain sits in a prime location in the Hitch High street right in the middle of the main shopping area. Those familiar with the Cafe Rouge offerings won't be surprised by anything on the menu but for those not acquainted with this chain it's a combination of modern European snacks and main courses with a particular Gallic theme. There are plenty of pavement tables too which is great when the weather behaves. Prices aren't cheap but service is good and the quality of the food on offer is fine. One particular thing to note if you're the parent of young offspring is that this place is very 'child-friendly' - high chairs are in abundance, they'll heat bottles and baby food up for you and babies and small children are thoroughly welcome.
